Is repairing a car oil pan with a repair kit reliable and does it make it like new again?
I am very new to the car repair scene, I have worked on my car before but sometimes I am skeptical about some things.
Is it worth it? The bolt is just stripped but I need to replace it or repair it.

It depends how badly you have damaged the threads, rethread it and check your repair, will the drain plug pull up tight enough to seal it …if so your all set,if not the parts store can sell you a bigger drain bolt with the right tap,one of the 2 should cure your problem…next time turn the bolt a half a turn backwards till it clicks (starter threads male drop into starter threads female) then tighten to the right. This way you will never cross thread again
