How many sit-ups should a fit person be able to do?
I can do around 100 sit-ups with my arms on my chest. I weight around 160. Is that good? What does the number of sit ups a person can do say about how fit, or strong their abs are?
I mean continuous sit-ups.
and in a a controlled manner, not as fast as I can.

100 is good but how fast do you do them. The best way to see how fit you are is to do a BMI test.

a very good amount for a high school kid is 65 in one minute.
if you kept doing them, i would say about 100-125 is a good total. if your feeling up to it, maybe do 2 sets of 70 or so.

Doing a bunch of situps as fast as you can isn’t the best way to do situps. It’s much better to take your time and do good QUALITY situps, situps that aren’t too fast, but are controlled and work your ab muscles out real good. Think about your ab muscles and how they feel as you slowly do your situps. Doing them fast is bad, bad, BAD advice!!!!
