How much does it cost to buy your first car?
I’m currently 17 and want to know how much it will cost me to buy, insure and fuel my first car. Where would you recommend buying a car from and whereabouts should i look for cheap car insurance? Also what cars are best/cheapest for new drivers, I have been looking at a ford fiesta as a possibility.

Fiesta, Corsa up to 1.2 engine. probably cost £30.00 to fill tank of petrol and around£800-£1000 to insure. Pick up a cheap car for your 1st £600-£1000 through a market or even e bay

That would obviously depend on the car you’re buying…
If you are looking at and old fiesta, perhaps an S or T reg, then expect to pay about £800, maybe more for a low mileage. If your looking for a car, either look on ads websites/eBay (for cars close to you so you can look before buying) or maybe try something like http://www.trade-sales.co.uk (my local used car place)
Have a look for car insurance on websites – try Direct Line, just don’t type in a registration, but choose the make and model etc. to get an idea. For my Vauxhall Corsa S reg 1.0litre, first year, it cost £1,800, but I did Pass Plus and got about £400 back as a reward. I had to pay upfront. However this is apparently because I live in a high risk area. I know on the south coast car insurance is much cheaper. (In fact, it is a lot cheaper just 1 minute up the road from my house… postcodes make a huge difference…)
As for fuel, a full tank of 44 litres costs nearly £50 now, (at about 109.9p/litre) and I fill up every three weeks ish, but I do drive quite a lot, so it can be twice a month…
((and to the guy before me – what century are you from – £30 for a full tank???!!!))

Great Share! Aw, this was a really nice post. In idea I would like to put in writing like this additionally – taking time and actual effort to make a very good article but what can I say I procrastinate alot and by no means seem to get something done.
