Can you do your car repair in a shopping mall parking lot or a office parking lot?

Well i was just curious…Is it perfectly legal if you take your car in a shopping mall or a office parking lot on a holiday when not too many cars are parked there, to do some kind of repair? Due to some restriction i can’t do some basic maintenance at my appartment parking lot like changing the brakes. I just don’t want that while i am in the middle of some work, someone come (may be a cop) and ask me to wind it up or impose some kind of fine..
I live in a suburban area in chicago
Well, just to add a point..i am talking about a holiday…when shopping mall or office is closed and in a parking lot of 1000 cars capacity, you can’t expect more then 100 cars on that day. Probably i can go to my office parking lot. being an employee, it may be treated as legal

no you can’t because other people need to park and do there shopping. If it’s like checking the oil well thats fine but if it is more complicated well you shoulden’t.

No, it is not legal. Don’t you have a friend or coworker who will let you use their driveway.

It is not illegal, if the lot owner approves. But generally they will not, and they’ll likely call the police on you for trespassing if you try it anyway.

You cannot do it on Private Property without permission.
Talk to your Priest or Minister and ask him if you could do it on the Church Parking Lot on a Saturday between 5:00am and
    11:00am.

You know, when you have to, it’s easy to make that choice. But if I lived in some restricted paintywaist neighborhood and I had to hide to just do maintenance, I’d try the auto parts store. I think you’ll find maintenance going on in the auto parts store parking lot. They certainly won’t mind. It might be a little strange doing a brake job there, because it takes a pretty good while.

most shopping malls have their own security force which are usually comprised of “wanna be” cops or off duty police, or a combination of the two. these are usually very zealous in their attempts to prevent any unwanted trespass or undesirable activities taking place. if there are not any posted signs at your office lot warning against trespass after business hours, you should be perfectly safe to work there. i’d suggest asking permission before you take it upon yourself to use the facility; and of course be respectful of the grounds and remove all trash and evidence you had been there as well. some areas of the country now have rules regarding hazardous waste, of which brake dust, used motor oil, and many other chemicals are classified. some jobs cannot be performed without leaving a mess, servicing an automatic transmission for example; so these jobs would be best if taken to a shop equipped to handle the spillage. one of the quickest ways to lose a privelege is to leave a mess or a big oil slick in someone’s parking lot.

But maybe you could do a tiny more in the way of content thus people today may connect with it much better. You’ve acquired an bad lot of wording for only having 1 or two photos. Probably you could possibly space it out enhanced?

The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!
