What is causing my car to jerk after I changed the battery, but the car was working fine before the change?
I recently changed my car battery because my battery kept dying after multiple jumps, and there was nothing else wrong with the car besides the battery before the change, but now my car continually jerks and the rpms are way too high. What do I do to fix it?

Check your battery cables.

. The battery has nothing to do with the jerking because the alternator takes over after the car is running. But if your alternator is bad and not giving you full performance it may cause you engine to shut off if the battery is too low to carry the load. By the sound of it I would check the alternator/voltage regulator. They commonly go out and cause you battery troubles by not recharging.

Not sure how old your car is but most modern computer controlled cars reset the computer when you disconnect the battery. It can take anywhere from a few minutes to a few days for all the parameters to get realigned. Most shops will connect a jumper with a small 12v battery to keep the computer memory active when swapping a battery, thus preventing the reset from happening.
Normally the reset is pretty seamless so I am not too sure about your jerking but it may be related to this. Good luck.
