What can I do to get fit for Field Hockey?
I really want to try out forf Field Hockey next school year, but I am so out of shape. Try-outs are in August,. What can I do to get fit by then? I will need to to run 2 miles in like 25 min.

Cycling is always very good exercise. I have a friend who plays ice hockey and he bikes for most of his summer, very effective, he is about the fastest player of the team.

Any type of cardio, often short repetative sperts are better than long distance, try the beep test.

Well field Hockey is based on your running strength so if you live in Lakewood you can always go to Lakewood Park(located on Lake Road) and run the track twice… Or you can run up and down your block a couple times…. Wait.. If you are a lefty hold the hockey stick with your left hand and same with your right hand….

i play field hockeyy and the saem thing happened to me.
i tryed out in 9th grade and made it.
i was so out of shape in 8th-9th grade.
SWIM everyday. try running too.
make sure youre practicing your stickwork too. i would recommend getting a STX compostitie stick. make sure you get the shin guards and a mouth guard.
Talk to the coach and see if its mandatory if you need goggles this year. I live in new yorkand its mandatory for the 08 season.
To Work OUt what i would do is:
Swim at least 20 laps every day.
go to your schools track and TIME your 2 mile run., see what you get then, then keep trying to beat it.
always stay hydrated with water.
start eating healthy too.
from now on try and eat as healthy as possible. :]

Thanks a ton for your post. I would really like to write my opinion that the cost of car insurance varies widely from one insurance policy to another, simply because there are so many different facets which give rise to the overall cost. Such as, the make and model of the vehicle will have a tremendous bearing on the price tag. A reliable aged family car or truck will have a more economical premium than the usual flashy expensive car.
