How does the FM transmitter/car adapter work if I want to play my songs from my iPod through the stereo?

I’m looking for a device that allows me to play the songs from my ipod library through my car speakers.

I have heard about the FM transmitters, and finding a correct station to match with your car radio, but I’m wondering what that has to do with anything and why that’s significant to listening to music through the stereo.

In simpler terms, how does the FM transmitter/car adapter work if I want to use it in my car?

Please help – thanks!

I have one of those. Your FM radio works by picking up signals that are “flyin through the air” at different frequencies. Well when you plug in your ipod FM transmitter, it transmits a certain frequency close to your radio and all you do is turn ur radio to FM and change the channel to the channel that the Ipod transmitter is sending it to. Read the intruction manual. It shows you how to set it up. Its very easy.

basicly the little fm transmitter can be set to a station
    like 93.1
you tune your radio to the station u picked on your tranmitter
and the transmitter puts out waves to that channel and its kinda like ur the dj for that channel, but only you can hear it. cause the transmitters are only good enough to reach your antenna and nothing further
